Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform.
- Build, optimize, and maintain infrastructure CI/CD pipelines while establishing DevOps and DevSecOps practices.
- Architect and manage Kubernetes environments across EKS, AKS, GKE, on-premises, and cloud platforms.
- Implement platform engineering tools, developer portals, and self-service capabilities through an internal developer platform.
- Define monitoring, alerting, and observability standards to support infrastructure reliability and performance.
- Evaluate and standardize cloud technologies, influence technical direction, and reduce platform risk.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and FinOps teams to embed secure, reliable, and cost-effective practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship and maintain documentation for engineering teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of overall experience.
- At least 4 years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience designing and administering complex platforms across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Deep knowledge of networking including VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateways, BGP, OSPF, Layer 2/3, MPLS, DNS, load balancing, and traffic management.
- At least 2 years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible and platforms including AWX, Ansible Tower, and Terragrunt.
- Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
- At least 2 years of experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of security best practices including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance.
- At least 2 years of Kubernetes administration experience across on-premises and cloud environments, with knowledge of networking, RBAC, pod security, service mesh, and Docker image management.
- Experience implementing developer portals such as Backstage, artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory or Nexus, API gateways, and self-service platform tools.
- Hands-on experience with Honeycomb, Prometheus, Grafana, or comparable monitoring and observability platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, IaaS/PaaS patterns, microservices, and the ability to independently influence technical direction.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket and the ability to operate autonomously and drive engineering standards.
