Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap for areas of responsibility, including technical debt, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs and interfaces.
- Integrate risk and mitigation systems to support regulatory compliance.
- Lead technical delivery of large-scale, organisationally complex projects and resolve cross-team blockers.
- Identify and solve impactful problems across the team and wider organisation.
- Deliver quarterly goals and scalable improvements to verification processes.
- Mentor engineers, share best practices, and contribute to a high-performing technical culture.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with Java 8+, Spring, asynchronous message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and highly scalable microservices.
- Strong product mindset with a commitment to customer experience and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Exceptional communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to clean, testable, maintainable, and performant code, best practices, and rigorous code reviews.
- Proven ability to lead technical delivery for large-scale, organisationally complex projects.
- Extensive experience with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation, schema design, and sensitive-data lifecycle management.

- Base salary of £87500 - £111000 plus RSU.
