Base Salary

$180k - $220k/yr

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and set architecture and project direction for a core software-platform area.
Design systems that orchestrate quantum-computing workloads, interface with hardware control and calibration systems, and manage experimental data.
Rewrite and productionize prototype code from Quantum Engineers into reliable, tested, maintainable services.
Mentor engineers and establish strong practices for code quality, design, documentation, and engineering execution.
Deploy, monitor, and support the production platform, including participation in an on-call rotation.
Partner with infrastructure engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines and represent engineering work with customers, partners, and the broader technical community.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree or PhD is welcome but not required.
10+ years of professional experience as a software engineer with significant technical achievements.
Proven ability to design and implement architecture-level features in complex systems.
Proficiency with Python and SQL.
Experience developing and operating software in Linux environments.
Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
Willingness to learn atomic, optical, laser physics, and quantum mechanics concepts.
Preferred qualifications include experience with C++ or Rust, Azure, AWS, GCP, Terraform, TypeScript/React, containerization, project management, and both large technology-company and startup environments.
