Responsibilities
- Design and enable future-facing research cohorts end to end.
- Write clean, scalable Python code using engineering best practices.
- Develop solutions for processing long-read data, including AWS-based solutions.
- Design and maintain resilient, high-performance AWS services.
- Build and evolve distributed systems for large-scale data processing.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with colleagues.
- Use GitLab, Jira, and Confluence in the team’s delivery workflow.
Requirements
- Strong Python skills and experience building scalable backend services.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, microservice architectures, and containerised environments.
- Experience working with data-heavy or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with agile delivery and test-driven development.
- Self-sufficiency, collaboration, and openness to learning.
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes Terraform, Spark, AWS Glue or similar big-data tools, JavaScript, cloud migration, orchestration, data flows, code review, and solution building.
