Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and implement tier-1 Java microservices and core backend components for the Unified Messaging Platform.
- Design and enhance critical services for scalability, performance, reliability, and high availability.
- Implement asynchronous cloud processes for data transformation operations.
- Own features and deliver projects end to end with robust architecture and high quality.
- Research and integrate technologies into production to optimize core service offerings.
- Participate in technical design, architecture reviews, code reviews, and Agile delivery ceremonies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on code quality, system design, and development practices.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA, Operations, business partners, and other stakeholders.
- Provide rotational on-call support for critical services.
- Ramp up on new domains and technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building internet-scale web or services applications.
- Experience developing applications with Java or alternative JVM languages and environments such as Scala or Kotlin.
- Familiarity with AWS services and environments, including ECS, Docker, S3, EC2, Lambda, and CloudWatch.
- Strong understanding of software development fundamentals.
- Proficiency writing unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB, and Cassandra.
- Proficiency with CI/CD procedures and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Spinnaker.
- Familiarity with service APIs or SDKs, software version control, Agile processes, and project management tools such as GitHub, SVN, Jira, and Basecamp.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred experience or certification with AWS services including S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Lambda, and CloudWatch, or other cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP.
- Preferred familiarity with Spark, Databricks, EMR, Terraform, SES, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, serverless solutions, Scala, and Python.
- Preferred experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, high-uptime systems and mentoring other developers.
Benefits
- Full-time employment in Santa Monica, California.
- The hiring range is $141,900 to $181,200 per year, with potential bonus and/or long-term incentive units excluded from the base pay range.
- Benefits may include medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the level and position offered.
- Rotational on-call support is required for critical services.
