Responsibilities
- Implement new systems and develop processes, tools, and frameworks to improve effectiveness across teams.
- Plan and execute maintenance, upgrades, and migrations across development, staging, and production environments.
- Design and develop resilient, scalable infrastructure that minimizes downtime and service interruptions.
- Interface with external logging, monitoring, and security vendors.
- Build infrastructure as code, standard system images, and Docker application images.
- Manage large-scale Kubernetes clusters, including scalability, alternate CNIs, and kops-provided clusters.
- Support backup and restoration of Kubernetes clusters and participate in code review and deployment processes.
- Provide technical support to junior team members.
Requirements
- Experience with AWS Cloud and developing solutions for new and existing cloud projects.
- Intermediate knowledge of AWS services including VPC, NAT Gateways, Internet Gateways, routing tables, subnets, EC2, auto scaling groups, launch configurations, spot instances, reserved instances, volumes, and load balancers.
- Experience managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters, including kops-provided clusters, alternate CNIs, and cluster scalability.
- Intermediate to advanced infrastructure-as-code and programming experience using Terraform with Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with related programming tools such as VSCode and Git.
- Participation in code review and deployment processes.
- Experience backing up and restoring Kubernetes clusters.
- Ability to develop creative solutions with simple implementations.
- Ability to follow security policies, protect information confidentiality and integrity, report suspected security violations or breaches, and complete mandatory security training.
