Base Salary
$211k - $248k/yr
Responsibilities
- Leverage load testing and chaos engineering to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Drive software changes to rehome applications onto new infrastructure for improved scalability.
- Implement software configuration changes and performance tuning parameters.
- Build developer tools to enhance engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to develop and adopt internal developer platform elements.
- Establish and adopt SLOs and error budgets with application teams.
- Improve incident response capabilities through enhanced observability and documentation.
- Evangelize solutions and train the engineering team on cloud-native design strategies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on distributed systems.
- At least 2 years of experience as a back-end engineer focused on system performance.
- Experience in reducing latency using observability and profiling tools.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and scaling compute services.
- Comfortable implementing services in Google Cloud Platform with Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficient in backend languages such as Python, GoLang, Node, or Rust.
- Experience monitoring distributed systems with tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Passion for engineering enablement and solving scaling challenges.
