Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans for OS-level updates, container deployments, platform upgrades, and other infrastructure changes.
- Validate server sizing and production-bound performance through load, stress, and soak testing.
- Test containerized application deployments for correctness, resource behavior, and rollback safety.
- Build and maintain test automation and monitoring scripts to validate infrastructure health and deployment outcomes.
- Collaborate with systems, DevOps, and application engineering teams to define infrastructure acceptance criteria.
- Document test plans, test results, defects, and qualification outcomes for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Linux administration experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including system administration, package management, systemd, and shell scripting.
- Experience building, running, troubleshooting, and validating Docker containers, with working knowledge of Kubernetes or OpenShift orchestration.
- Solid QA and testing experience designing test plans and cases, executing structured test cycles, and tracking defects through resolution.
- Experience validating CI/CD pipelines and automated build and deployment processes.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and VPN concepts for testing connectivity, access, and security requirements.
- Scripting ability in Bash and/or Python for test harnesses and repetitive validation automation.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Locust, or k6.
- Familiarity with Git and issue tracking systems such as Jira or Azure.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across operating system, network, and application layers.
- Clear written communication and ability to produce test and defect documentation for non-specialists.
- Preferred qualifications include industrial or OT/SCADA testing, deeper Kubernetes/OpenShift operations, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, RHEL certification, monitoring and observability tools, security testing, virtualization, cloud platforms, database testing, load balancers or reverse proxies, and energy or critical-infrastructure experience.
