Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, operate, and evolve AWS infrastructure for high-availability financial services workloads.
- Own Terraform infrastructure-as-code standards, reusable modules, state management, and code review practices.
- Lead the Kubernetes and EKS platform strategy, including cluster upgrades, node architecture, Helm governance, service mesh, and autoscaling.
- Improve CI/CD platforms and self-service deployment capabilities using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Design disaster recovery, cross-region failover, backup automation, high-availability architecture, and DR simulation exercises.
- Define observability, SLO/SLI, alerting, tracing, capacity planning, incident response, and cloud cost optimization strategies.
- Establish AWS security, networking, IAM, encryption, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Architect AI/ML infrastructure and govern AI-powered developer tools, including automation for alerting, anomaly detection, and remediation.
- Lead cross-functional infrastructure initiatives, architecture reviews, technical strategy, documentation, hiring, mentorship, and engineering-wide planning.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep production AWS expertise.
- End-to-end ownership of infrastructure initiatives from architecture and implementation through rollout and operations.
- Expert Terraform skills, including module design, state management, and organization-wide infrastructure-as-code standards.
- Extensive production Kubernetes experience, with EKS, cluster lifecycle management, multi-tenancy, Helm, and GitOps workflows strongly preferred.
- Strong Linux systems engineering and advanced scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
- Deep experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.
- Expert understanding of cloud networking and security, including VPC, Transit Gateway, DNS, load balancing, IAM, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, and Secrets Manager.
- Experience operating observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch/ELK at organizational scale.
- Strong database infrastructure and data-layer architecture experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, ElastiCache/Redis, OpenSearch, or DynamoDB.
- Demonstrated disaster recovery, DR simulation, high-availability architecture, technical communication, mentorship, and organizational leadership experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 5+ years at a senior or staff level, financial-services or regulated-industry experience, relevant AWS certifications, event streaming, API gateway, AI/ML infrastructure, policy-as-code, FinOps, technical writing, or open-source contributions.
