Responsibilities
- Define and influence the direction of a small team using subject-matter expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
- Prototype and deploy algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation.
- Develop high-performance software for real-time systems, simulations, and decision-support tools.
- Design robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems for noisy or incomplete sensor data.
- Analyze system performance with high-fidelity simulations, modeling tools, and statistical techniques.
- Customize algorithms and software for mission-critical customer use cases.
- Integrate tracking and estimation technologies from requirements definition through testing and optimization.
- Translate technical progress into actionable insights for colleagues and end-users.
Requirements
- Proficiency in algorithm design, software development, statistical modeling, and C/C++, Python, and Matlab programming.
- Knowledge of target tracking techniques including Kalman filters, particle filters, JPDA, MHT, and PHD filters.
- Experience with state estimation, Bayesian filtering, sensor fusion, and recursive estimation techniques.
- Understanding of linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes.
- Knowledge of signal processing for radar, lidar, and EO/IR sensor data.
- Familiarity with big data pipelines, NoSQL databases, and large-scale sensor data handling.
- Background in machine learning for target tracking and recognition, including clustering, classification, and anomaly detection.
- Ability to engineer robust systems involving estimation theory, adaptive filtering, controls, and complex signal environments.
- Ability to work across the development lifecycle from prototyping through production optimization.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
