Responsibilities
- Define a unified user understanding framework and strategy.
- Lead design and implementation of advanced user models for personalization.
- Evolve user modeling using LLMs for richer user understanding.
- Partner with platform teams to build core components for large-scale learning.
- Drive experimentation and adoption of new user understanding models.
- Mentor senior engineers and lead design reviews.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in building and scaling production-grade ML systems.
- Proven track record of driving high-impact initiatives from concept to production.
- Strong focus on product impact and real metrics like engagement and retention.
- Solid fundamentals in user understanding ML approaches and their trade-offs.
- Experience with LLMs or foundation models to enhance existing systems.
- Ability to think in systems, considering data, training, and serving cohesively.
- Strong collaboration skills to influence across teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate trade-offs in quality, latency, cost, and safety.
