Responsibilities
- Collaborate with decision-makers and management to define software architecture requirements.
- Design and develop software architectures, solution blueprints, and reference architectures aligned with organizational needs.
- Lead development teams, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure adherence to engineering processes and best practices.
- Design, code, debug, enhance, and troubleshoot products, features, and software systems.
- Design and manage REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs with appropriate governance, versioning, documentation, and security.
- Define microservices, event-driven, distributed-system, messaging, scalability, reliability, and observability solutions.
- Estimate work, manage multiple development projects, track progress, and ensure timely completion.
- Own code quality, application security, functionality, and performance while resolving technical queries from the team.
- Work with frontend engineers, Product Management, Business Development, and Operations to implement product features.
- Evaluate and improve software development tools, frameworks, systems, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- 10–12+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
- Expertise in Java 8+ and deep knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collection, class loading, memory management, and performance tuning.
- Advanced knowledge of Java concurrency, including Executor, ForkJoin, locks, concurrent collections, the Java memory model, and non-blocking programming.
- Expertise in Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Batch.
- Hands-on experience designing REST, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs, including API governance, versioning, documentation, and secure API practices.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, OIDC, JWT, TLS, mTLS, OWASP, secrets management, and secure coding.
- Experience with Spring Cloud configuration, gateways, circuit breakers, and service discovery patterns.
- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, event-driven design, service mesh concepts, ACID/CAP trade-offs, eventual consistency, saga patterns, and reliability strategies.
- Deep experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or MQ, including streaming, partitioning, and messaging reliability patterns.
- Proficiency in SOLID, domain-driven design, hexagonal architecture, scalability, observability, and architectural trade-off analysis.
- Ability to explain design choices and trade-offs involving simplicity, extensibility, consistency, availability, performance, maintainability, reliability, and correctness.
- Mandatory full-stack Java enterprise development experience.
