Responsibilities
- Improve code structure and architecture through high-impact code reviews focused on quality and scalability.
- Lead project planning by identifying dependencies and risks and partnering with Product and Design.
- Simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems while promoting visibility, health, and operational readiness.
- Collaborate across engineering teams and influence the wider technical roadmap.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance and participate in engineering interviews.
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong engineering principles and write readable, well-designed, and well-tested software.
- Bring significant experience building web-based backend applications using technologies such as Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust.
- Have practical experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Have experience with NoSQL backends such as Redis, DynamoDB, or ElasticSearch.
- Be able to manage web architecture at scale, including systems handling 20krpm and above.
- Have experience breaking down large initiatives and guiding implementation choices for engineering teams.
