Responsibilities
- Provide 24x7x365 production support for North Front End Host Data Capture applications, including investigation, fixes, reporting, implementation, and long-term improvements.
- Design, code, test, and debug high-volume software using COBOL, JCL, DB2, TCP/IP, and IBM Mainframe technologies.
- Create design documentation and review it with project stakeholders and management.
- Collaborate with test teams, conduct peer reviews, and review backout and implementation plans.
- Track software changes from design through deployment using Jira and manage change records and incidents in ServiceNow.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and developers on project strategies across development, testing, and deployment.
- Present application performance improvements and innovations to Product and IT management.
- Support production code deployments and team support schedules, including some nights and weekends.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience with COBOL, CICS, TCP/IP, and Mainframe technologies.
- At least 4 years of experience with the full software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
- At least 4 years of experience writing technical designs and documentation.
- At least 2 years of experience with SQL and DB2 databases.
- At least 1 year of experience using GenAI assistants or LLM developer tools in daily development activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.
- Ability to work some nights and weekends for production deployments and team support.
- Experience in the payments or financial domain is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday.
