Base Salary

$115k - $184k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications and microservices.
  • Develop performant and reliable REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Translate requirements into maintainable, secure designs and contribute to architecture decisions.
  • Write and maintain unit, functional, and integration tests while improving test automation and code coverage.
  • Analyze and optimize system performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Apply secure coding practices and lead vulnerability remediation, including CVE remediation and upgrade automation.
  • Lead code reviews, troubleshoot complex production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Build systems with strong operability, including monitoring, logging, reliability, and support readiness.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and engineering practices that improve delivery speed and quality.
  • Collaborate with product, QA, platform, security, and other teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and influence technical direction and engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Experience building RESTful services with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience designing scalable systems using modern software design and architecture principles.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit, functional, and integration tests.
  • Strong understanding of performance engineering, system scalability, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Expertise in secure coding practices and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with code reviews, engineering standards, system operability, monitoring, and reliability practices.
  • Understanding of data structures and their effects on performance and scalability.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating across teams.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, independent problem-solving, and technical influence skills.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred knowledge of event-driven architectures such as Kafka.
  • Preferred experience in high-throughput or regulated payments, banking, or fintech environments.
  • Preferred exposure to AI or automation tools in software development workflows.
