Staff software Engineer (Test Automation expertise)

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for cloud-native microservices and embedded CMTS platforms.
- Build and execute automated functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, performance, resiliency, scalability, interoperability, and system-level test suites.
- Automate validation of REST APIs, gRPC services, Kubernetes-based services, telemetry, and embedded-system interactions.
- Develop reusable test tools, simulators, mock services, test harnesses, and automated validation infrastructure.
- Analyze logs, packet captures, telemetry data, and system metrics to identify root causes and validate fixes.
- Define test strategies, test plans, test cases, and validation approaches for microservices, CMTS/DOCSIS platforms, and embedded devices.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to improve product quality and testability.
- Drive automation strategy, QA best practices, continuous improvement, and CI/CD quality gates.
- Mentor engineers on automation frameworks, coding standards, and quality engineering methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent with 8+ years of QA or software engineering experience.
- Strong experience developing test automation with Python, PyTest, Robot Framework, or similar technologies.
- Expertise in DOCSIS/CMTS and broadband access network technologies.
- Experience testing cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, gRPC services, Kubernetes, and Docker-based deployments.
- Experience testing embedded systems involving hardware and software, microservices, and distributed architectures.
- Strong programming, scripting, troubleshooting, and debugging skills across software, networking, and embedded domains.
- Experience with Linux, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and distributed systems.
- Exposure to AI-assisted test automation and quality engineering practices.
- Preferred experience with large-scale automation, performance, soak, and resiliency testing.
- Preferred familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, virtualization, cloud platforms, RPD, vCCAP, and telemetry services.
- Preferred experience developing simulators, test harnesses, and automated validation environments.
