Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an automation strategy aligned with testing and development goals.
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimize scalable automation frameworks using Cypress.
- Lead automated functional, integration, regression, and API test development and execution.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve continuous testing reliability.
- Review automation code, enforce coding standards, eliminate flaky tests, and optimize test execution.
- Investigate, document, and report defects while collaborating with software developers to resolve issues.
- Lead, mentor, and train automation engineers on testing and automation best practices.
- Collaborate with QA teams, stakeholders, and management on test planning, coverage, testing strategy, and release planning.
- Maintain documentation covering issues, resolutions, and automation process improvements.
- Keep current with industry trends and advancements in test automation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Lead QA Automation Engineer driving end-to-end quality and automation strategy.
- Strong coding expertise and the ability to design scalable, clean, testable, and maintainable automation solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright or Selenium and Cypress.
- Hands-on TypeScript experience building structured, reusable automation frameworks.
- Deep understanding of API automation with TypeScript, including schema validation and integration testing.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills across UI, API, backend, and test environments.
- Strong knowledge of Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Good understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipeline creation, version control, and environment configuration.
- Strong working knowledge of Jira for test planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Good understanding of AWS or GCP for test execution, environment setup, and tooling integration.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted automation tools such as self-healing tests, AI-driven script generation, or Copilot.
- Exposure to ETL/ELT testing is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of OWASP is beneficial.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP is beneficial.
