Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and technical direction for PaaS product features, services, and platform components.
- Drive development of complex, maintainable, well-tested software across multiple technologies and platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to multiple engineering teams.
- Collaborate with engineering managers, SRE, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
- Evaluate technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve development processes, system performance, and product capabilities.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and architectural principles.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and share technical knowledge across the organization.
- Improve engineering processes, tools, and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of progressive software development experience, including at least 3 years in a lead or principal engineering role.
- Deep expertise designing, building, and scaling highly available distributed systems.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Go, plus familiarity with modern web frameworks.
- Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling principles.
- Ability to drive technical initiatives from conception through deployment and maintenance.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Proven experience mentoring and coaching engineers and fostering collaboration.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
