Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
  • Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident analysis.
  • Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-generated outputs.
  • Use software development lifecycle toolchain automation to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
  • Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
  • Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide engineering frameworks, tools, and practices.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting.
  • Ability to establish team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI-assisted engineering usage and controls.
  • Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
  • Practical cloud-native experience.
  • Preferred proficiency in Go or Python for automation, tooling development, or platform service implementation.
  • Preferred experience with MLOps frameworks and tools such as Kubeflow or MLflow.
  • Preferred working knowledge of PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, or scikit-learn for model integration and operationalization.
  • Preferred exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures and platform portability strategies.
