Responsibilities
- Design and implement C++ software modules for low-latency, high-throughput real-time systems.
- Develop build-system scripting, unit tests, integration tests, performance tests, packaging, and configuration management.
- Participate in code and design reviews and contribute to technical, product, and software documentation.
- Assist with field-problem resolution and partner with QA to ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with project owners and other stakeholders to deliver, support, and maintain products.
- Mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers as the team grows.
- Help establish the culture, practices, and system-level programming community for the new Bangkok team.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional software development experience.
- Strong knowledge of C++11 and at least one scripting language such as Python or Bash.
- Professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Practical knowledge of design patterns and the software development life cycle.
- Experience developing C++ applications in a multithreaded environment.
- Strong Linux application or backend development experience, including Linux command-line tools.
- Experience with Makefile and CMake build systems.
- Experience with real-time C++ development, such as multithreaded business applications, embedded systems, game development, or low-latency/high-throughput network applications.
- Understanding of operating-system concepts including memory management and caching.
- Hands-on network programming experience using sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and platform socket APIs.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills and availability to work partially in US hours.
- Preferred: Windows development experience; experience with Rust, Go, C#, Java, Python, or other system-programming languages; experience modernizing C++98 code; direct Linux POSIX API experience; and exposure to financial-market data, investment, or trading.
