Responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise AI architecture, reference architectures, standards, and reusable patterns for retail use cases.
- Translate business problems across merchandising, supply chain, stores, marketing, and e-commerce into scalable AI solution blueprints.
- Select, evaluate, integrate, and govern open-source AI, ML, LLM, and agentic frameworks.
- Architect end-to-end AI solutions covering data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, inference, and system integration.
- Design AI solutions for search, recommendations, personalization, forecasting, inventory, pricing, markdown optimization, and AI assistants.
- Define and implement observability for model performance, data drift, prediction quality, system health, GenAI behavior, and production feedback loops.
- Own AI security threat modeling, secure-by-design standards, privacy controls, red-teaming, adversarial testing, guardrails, and risk management.
- Establish MLOps, AIOps, GenAI, LLM, RAG, MCP, prompt orchestration, tool-calling, agentic workflow, and governance practices.
- Mandate, evaluate, and govern enterprise AI productivity tools and train teams in their effective use.
- Provide hands-on implementation guidance and reference code, pipelines, schemas, and infrastructure patterns.
- Evaluate AI SaaS solutions, cloud services, managed AI/ML services, and build-versus-buy-versus-open-source options.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in software, data, or AI engineering, including 5+ years in AI/ML architecture roles.
- Proven experience delivering production AI solutions in retail, e-commerce, supply chain, or consumer-facing industries.
- Deep hands-on experience with open-source AI/ML tools such as Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, MLflow, Ray, Feast, and Evidently.
- Strong Python proficiency and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
- Experience with lakehouse, streaming, and batch data architectures and platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
- Demonstrated experience designing AI observability systems, model monitoring, drift detection, and production feedback loops.
- Working knowledge of AI security threat models, prompt injection, adversarial attacks, and secure LLM deployment.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, and managed AI/ML services such as AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or Vertex AI.
- Established daily engineering and architecture use of AI productivity tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or Glean.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex architectures to technical and business stakeholders.
- Preferred qualifications include enterprise AI platform or AI Center of Excellence experience, open-source contributions or published architecture patterns, AI red-teaming or risk-assessment experience, familiarity with retail platforms, and cloud or AI certifications.
