Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend services and RESTful APIs for a self-serve CPC bidding marketplace and brand tools using PHP 8.2+ and Laravel.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in peer code reviews, and identify refactoring opportunities.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and senior tech leads to break down features, estimate tasks, and implement ad-tech requirements.
- Follow repository conventions and CI/CD pipeline steps to deploy backend updates safely and predictably.
- Monitor application health and debug backend issues to keep real-time ad-serving and bidding endpoints fast and reliable.
- Use Cursor, Claude Code, or Gemini to accelerate boilerplate creation, test writing, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with modern PHP 8.2+ and Laravel, object-oriented design, and clean code practices.
- Experience building secure RESTful APIs, implementing authentication and authorization, and setting up request validation and rate limiting.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, efficient SQL queries, table schemas, indexes, and migrations.
- Familiarity with application logging, error tracking, and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Comfort using modern AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Gemini.
- Strong ownership, pragmatic engineering judgment, and clear communication with technical and non-technical teammates.
- AdTech or loyalty-domain experience, including campaign dashboards, ad-tech delivery stacks, budgeting engines, or reward and coupon systems, is preferred.
