Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Python backend services for data access and distribution.
- Build and operate automated build, test, and deployment pipelines on AWS and Kubernetes.
- Design and maintain Avro and SQL data models and schemas for data pipelines and services.
- Distribute data through a Kafka-based platform and Schema Registry for downstream consumers.
- Develop access-layer data models in analytics environments such as Snowflake for direct application and API use.
- Coordinate priorities, schemas, and schedules between upstream and downstream Data and Technology teams.
Requirements
- At least three years of professional experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or a comparable role.
- Strong SQL skills and proven experience with data modeling, including dimensional modeling and star schemas.
- Practical experience with event streaming, message distribution, and ideally Kafka with schema management through Kafka Schema Registry.
- Experience designing data contracts and schemas between upstream data producers and downstream data consumers.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift and modern data-stack tools such as dbt and CI/CD.
- Openness to AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code or comparable tools.
- Very good communication skills in English and German.
