Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend services and RESTful APIs for the self-serve CPC bidding marketplace and brand tools using PHP and Laravel.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in peer code reviews, and identify refactoring opportunities.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and senior technical leads to translate marketplace and AdTech requirements into working software.
- Follow repository conventions and CI/CD processes to deploy backend changes safely and predictably.
- Monitor application health, debug production issues, and maintain fast, reliable real-time ad serving and bidding endpoints.
- Use AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and Gemini to support code generation, testing, and problem-solving.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with PHP 8.2+ and Laravel, object-oriented design, and clean coding practices.
- Experience building secure RESTful APIs, implementing authentication and authorization, and configuring request validation and rate limiting.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL queries, table schemas, indexes, and migrations.
- Familiarity with application logging, error tracking, and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Comfort using modern AI development tools including Cursor, Claude Code, or Gemini.
- Strong ownership, pragmatic engineering judgment, communication skills, and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical colleagues.
- AdTech or loyalty-domain experience, including campaign dashboards, ad delivery stacks, budgeting engines, or reward and coupon systems, is preferred.
