Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance packet-processing applications in C/C++ using DPDK and FD.io VPP.
- Profile and optimize software for 100G/400G line-rate performance with minimal latency and jitter.
- Implement IP routing protocols and tunneling encapsulations, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, SRv6, MPLS, and GRE.
- Develop drivers and software interfaces for hardware accelerators, SmartNICs, and FPGA-offload engines.
- Architect horizontally scalable distributed dataplane systems for TeraWave Point of Presence clusters.
- Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Collaborate with platform, hardware, and network engineering teams on dataplane requirements and interfaces.
- Lead performance benchmarking and optimization of packet-forwarding pipelines.
- Contribute to software architecture and technology-selection decisions for network-edge infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of systems-programming experience with a demonstrated record of shipping carrier-grade networking software.
- Expert proficiency in C or C++.
- Strong Linux systems-programming experience, including threading, memory management, and interrupt handling.
- Strong understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and Ethernet switching fundamentals.
- Preferred experience with DPDK or VPP, eBPF, XDP, or Linux kernel networking internals.
- Preferred experience with Mellanox/NVIDIA MLNX_OFED, Intel E810, or Broadcom DNX-based silicon.
- Preferred knowledge of BGP, EVPN, and Segment Routing/SRv6.
- Preferred experience with CPU pinning, NUMA awareness, cache-line optimization, Kubernetes CNI, and DPDK-in-Docker deployments.
- Background in space systems, satellite communications, or telecommunications networking is preferred.
