Responsibilities
- Define architectural standards, engineering principles, practices, and technology standards across the organization.
- Identify and address systemic technical challenges spanning multiple domains and teams.
- Lead cross-team and cross-domain technical initiatives and shape long-term technology direction.
- Connect architectural direction with product needs in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
- Help move the organization away from legacy solutions while maintaining product delivery and software quality.
- Mentor Staff Engineers and help develop the next generation of technical leaders.
- Contribute to the organization’s technology strategy for AI.
- Support technical due diligence for strategic partnerships and mergers and acquisitions.
- Represent InPost in engineering communities through conferences, publications, and industry initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems.
- 3+ years of technical impact beyond a single team in a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Architect, or equivalent role.
- Experience making long-term architectural decisions across multiple teams and influencing customer-facing product direction.
- Strong engineering background with the ability to engage in detailed technical discussions, despite limited regular hands-on coding.
- Experience establishing engineering standards and mentoring senior engineers.
- Proficiency using AI tools and large language models such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Claude, including critically evaluating and responsibly applying generated outputs.
- Experience with public cloud and cloud-native architectures, scalability, reliability, observability, APIs, and system integration.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams and C-level stakeholders.
- Professional English proficiency at C1 level.
- Preferred experience includes logistics, e-commerce, marketplace, international, on-premises-to-cloud migration, large-scale mobile or web application, payment, notification, tracking, event-driven, real-time, security, or data-protection environments.
- Previous managerial experience and cloud certifications such as GCP Professional Cloud Architect are valued.
- Java is the preferred backend technology, though candidates from other backend ecosystems are considered.
