Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end architecture, engineering practices, deployment, quality, and support of the data exchange connector platform and SDK.
- Drive technical strategy, architecture roadmaps, engineering vision, and best practices for the data interoperability domain.
- Write production code across multiple platforms while providing architectural guidance and technical leadership.
- Design and evolve SDKs, APIs, platform capabilities, connectors, and integrations consumed by multiple teams.
- Lead cross-team and cross-division technical decisions, resolve complex platform problems, and align stakeholders on business outcomes.
- Improve development processes, engineering productivity, product quality, service reliability, resiliency, and risk management.
- Lead incident response and ensure follow-up improvements across and beyond the team.
- Evaluate technology options for multi-year business outcomes and anticipate technical and operational risks over a 2–5 year horizon.
- Act as Product Owner when needed, balancing product requirements, architectural roadmaps, and service improvements.
- Mentor technical leaders and contributors and coach teams across the functional area.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience across the full product development lifecycle.
- Deep technical expertise in a critical technology or capability area and the ability to act as an authoritative expert.
- Proven ability to lead business outcomes and initiatives affecting a division or functional area.
- Strong experience designing and evolving SDKs, APIs, and platform capabilities used by multiple teams and connector integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and achieve alignment across teams and divisions without direct authority.
- Experience building desktop application plugins or extensions integrated with cloud platforms and services.
- Strong understanding of build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and developer experience optimization.
- Ability to articulate the business drivers for technical investment.
- Preferred: high-performance systems development in C#/.NET, including desktop application frameworks and cloud service integration.
- Preferred: expertise in CAD, BIM, 3D/2D geometry, computational geometry, or STEP and IFC design-data formats.
- Preferred: software integration experience with Autodesk products such as Revit, Rhino, and Inventor, or similar AEC/manufacturing tools.
- Preferred: familiarity with Autodesk platform APIs including Forge/APS, Data Exchange, and ACC, or comparable cloud data exchange ecosystems.
- Preferred: cross-platform desktop application development using Tauri or Electron.
- Preferred: experience shipping SDK and toolkit products for internal or external developers.
- Preferred: experience with protocol buffers, binary serialization, or high-throughput geometry and design-data processing pipelines.
- Preferred: awareness of emerging threats and opportunities in design-data interoperability.
