Responsibilities
- Own features across the complete product lifecycle, including scoping, shipping, production monitoring, and ongoing optimization.
- Architect and deliver full-stack functionality across CoinDesk’s web platform, mobile applications, and services layer.
- Build high-quality software using Next.js, React 19, TypeScript, and modern runtime services.
- Collaborate directly with product managers, UX designers, and editorial stakeholders to turn concepts into production software.
- Ensure systems remain secure, fault-tolerant, performant, and scalable for a global readership.
- Implement progressive releases using feature flags such as LaunchDarkly and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and observability.
- Develop rigorous unit, integration, and end-to-end automated testing with Playwright and Maestro.
- Use AI tools such as Claude Code, Open Code, and open-source models in daily engineering workflows.
- Identify and build internal tooling that improves workflows for editors, designers, and product partners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience shipping production-grade software.
- Deep hands-on experience with modern web architectures, especially Next.js, React, server-side rendering, caching patterns, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
- Strong experience with backend environments using Node.js and TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and content management platforms.
- Experience building and maintaining high-quality automated unit, integration, and end-to-end test suites.
- Practical experience managing CI/CD pipelines, applying security best practices, and integrating Auth0 across client and server environments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with non-engineering stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with React Native, Expo, Sanity, Google Ad Manager, Stripe, Amplitude, HubSpot, GCP, Terraform, Bun, Elysia, and Redis.
- Preferred experience with digital publishing, headless content architectures, structured content workflows, monetization systems, analytics infrastructure, and high-performance microservices.
