Responsibilities
- Own the booking and carrier-setup product surfaces end to end, including freight booking, spot quoting, multi-leg and consolidated movements.
- Build self-serve carrier setup and configuration workflows for fulfillment rules, packaging types, products, and SKUs.
- Develop shipping and customs document generation and other transport execution capabilities.
- Write React and TypeScript frontend code, Python and Django endpoints, API contracts, data validation, and supporting data-layer integrations.
- Design interfaces that handle validation, partial failure, retries, human review, traceability, and safe agent behavior.
- Work directly with the Product Lead and Designer to set the product approach and close ambiguous questions.
- Review and pair on code, provide direct feedback, and mentor engineers earlier in their careers.
- Raise squad quality standards through reviewed merge requests, acceptance criteria, and safe production practices.
Requirements
- Approximately five to eight years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Deep experience with React, TypeScript, state management, and interaction design for complex multi-step workflows.
- Strong fullstack capability with Python and Django, including API contract design and understanding of the underlying data layer.
- Experience owning a product surface end to end and making decisions amid ambiguity.
- Ability to design for correctness under failure, including validation, partial failure, retries, and clear user state.
- Experience building human-in-the-loop interfaces and treating traceability as a product feature.
- Experience with code review, pairing, direct feedback, and mentoring earlier-career engineers.
- Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude and evaluating when generated output is incorrect.
- Nice-to-have experience with design-system ownership, Django REST, BigQuery, dbt, Cube Cloud, GCP, LLM agents, RAG, production evaluations, or logistics and finance-adjacent domains.
