Responsibilities
- Architect and execute solutions for large-scale DBaaS distributed computing, control plane throughput, scalability, and multi-region infrastructure.
- Set and execute the multi-year technical roadmap for database infrastructure supporting high-concurrency AI workloads, continuous data streaming, and AI inference pipelines.
- Own DBaaS performance, resource utilization, fault tolerance, service availability, and infrastructure scaling.
- Scale automated failovers, continuous backups, point-in-time recovery, and maintenance workflows for higher data volumes and stricter SLAs.
- Author architectural blueprints, define execution standards, lead design reviews, and mentor staff and senior engineers.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience architecting, building, and operating large-scale platform infrastructure and distributed computing systems.
- Experience diagnosing and solving complex, high-concurrency engineering problems in production cloud environments.
- Working knowledge of relational database engine internals, specifically PostgreSQL and/or MySQL, with experience optimizing query performance, replication, and scale preferred.
- Experience scaling distributed services for the compute, memory, and networking demands of AI inference and data-intensive workloads.
- Expertise in system profiling, identifying I/O, CPU, and network bottlenecks, and improving database service performance.
- Deep experience with system resiliency, platform availability, and recovery optimization for distributed environments.
- Demonstrated technical ownership, architecture definition from business requirements, and engineering mentorship.
