Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, scalable production software solutions.
- Build and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java and Python on AWS.
- Review and debug code, establish validation standards, and promote secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
- Lead responsible adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and incident analysis.
- Identify and automate recurring issue remediation to improve application and system stability.
- Lead technical evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams regarding architectural designs and integration applicability.
- Coach engineers and share effective engineering practices across the team.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Advanced proficiency in backend programming, including Java and Python, with experience building microservices-based applications.
- Cloud-native experience with AWS, distributed systems, and web technologies including WebSockets and JSON.
- Proficiency across the software development lifecycle and understanding of agile delivery practices, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services IT systems.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, mentoring, stakeholder management, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Exposure to Reactjs or Angular, banking-domain experience, and AWS certification are preferred.
