  • Select and recommend technologies, documenting when and why they should be used.
  • Productionise selected capabilities with repeatable Crossplane infrastructure-as-code patterns across AWS, Azure, and other hyperscaler clouds.
  • Configure and direct AI coding agents, including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor, to use technologies appropriately and follow Marsh standards.
  • Develop subject-matter expertise in AI technology areas such as memory and retrieval, agent orchestration, guardrails and safety, or MCP tooling.
  • Engage business units through architecture forums and developer councils to understand needs and feed requirements into the PoC pipeline.
  • Coach peers and share knowledge through blog posts, demonstrations, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Strong production software engineering experience in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience integrating, deploying, instrumenting, and operating LLM-based systems, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, function calling, agent frameworks, evaluation, and observability.
  • Experience writing infrastructure-as-code for cloud deployments; Crossplane is preferred, while Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK experience transfers well.
  • Comfort working across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies quickly and form clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical decisions to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications include Rust or Go experience, MCP server or tool experience, Crossplane or Kubernetes-based infrastructure management, AI safety and guardrails experience, AI coding assistant configuration, and foundation-model fine-tuning or adaptation experience.

Benefits

  • Access to AI models, tools, tokens, and professional development opportunities.
  • Professional development opportunities, interesting work, and supportive leaders.
  • Inclusive and flexible work environment with collaboration and career opportunities at Marsh’s scale.
  • Hybrid work with remote flexibility, while colleagues are expected to work in their local office or onsite with clients at least three days per week; office-based teams identify at least one weekly anchor day.
