Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable audio/video processing and transcoding workflows using FFmpeg and multimedia frameworks.
- Configure and optimize audio/video codecs for different bitrates, resolutions, and target devices.
- Write scripts and tools to automate batch processing, quality control, and ingestion pipelines.
- Develop and support live and VOD streaming using HLS, DASH, RTMP, and WebRTC.
- Diagnose and resolve media synchronization, frame-drop, container-format, metadata, and hardware-acceleration issues.
- Collaborate with product, QA, frontend, backend, and content operations teams to integrate media capabilities into applications and infrastructure.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, broadcast engineering, or digital media pipelines.
- Deep hands-on FFmpeg experience through the CLI and C/C++ or scripting APIs for encoding, filtering, muxing, demuxing, and transcoding.
- Strong knowledge of digital video/audio standards, container formats, and compression algorithms.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and server-side deployment.
- Experience with Python, Bash, C++, or JavaScript/Node.js.
- Preferred experience with AWS MediaConvert, Elemental, GCP, or Azure Media Services.
- Preferred knowledge of DRM, subtitle/caption handling, and metadata standards.
- Preferred familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in CI/CD environments.
- A BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
