Base Salary

$220k - $245k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly develop and maintain production-ready AI solutions in a collaborative tiger-team environment.
  • Design AI-native applications, autonomous agents, multi-turn workflows, RAG and Graph-RAG systems, MCP tools, evaluation pipelines, and safety controls.
  • Build front-end and full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Vite, AWS services, WebSockets, and REST APIs.
  • Design and own AWS-native data lakehouse and Common Data Environment capabilities, including canonical engineering data models, schema governance, lineage, data quality, and event-driven pipelines.
  • Integrate enterprise engineering, PLM, requirements, ERP, and supplier systems with the platform and lakehouse.
  • Build, operate, and optimize Docker-based applications, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform-managed AWS infrastructure, monitoring, observability, release engineering, and deployment automation.
  • Partner with systems engineering, licensing, quality assurance, and other technical organizations to meet nuclear engineering, regulatory, audit, security, and export-control requirements.
  • Document architecture and integration decisions, support knowledge transfer, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Systems Engineering, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Typically fifteen years of relevant software engineering experience across at least one specialization track.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, Jira, Confluence, and AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
  • Track A candidates need strong React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Vite, Bun, Tailwind CSS, WebSockets, REST API, and AWS web-application experience.
  • Track B candidates need deep LLM, agentic architecture, RAG or Graph-RAG, TypeScript and Python experience, plus hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, AWS Strands, LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or comparable tools.
  • Track C candidates need deep data lakehouse, ETL, AWS data-service, open-table-format, canonical data-model, schema-governance, enterprise-integration, identity-federation, and engineering-data-format experience.
  • Track D candidates need Docker, GitLab CI/CD administration, AWS, Terraform, ECS, ECR, VPC, data-service, release-engineering, monitoring, Linux or macOS, and container-orchestration experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other regulated fields; digital engineering and MBSE; PLM and requirements integrations; graph databases; AWS GovCloud or FedRAMP; export controls; AI evaluation; MCP; and relevant professional certifications or open-source contributions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences are required.

Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule requiring work in the Rockville, Maryland-area office Tuesday through Thursday, with three days in office.
  • Full-time exempt position with a standard Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. ET schedule.
  • Travel of up to 10% as needed.
