Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary security team point of contact for multiple large engineering efforts.
  • Conduct security reviews, develop threat models, track findings, and communicate risk to engineering and leadership.
  • Guide engineering partners in implementing security early in the design lifecycle.
  • Develop proof-of-concept systems to automate security recommendations, vulnerability discovery, and process workflows.
  • Define, automate, and advocate for platform-wide security improvements.
  • Use data to improve security review efficiency and prioritize high-value engagements.
  • Partner with security engineering, privacy, offensive security, developers, and site reliability engineers.
  • Make security decisions affecting services used by millions of users.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience conducting security reviews, threat modeling, tracking findings, and communicating risk.
  • Knowledge of distributed-systems design patterns and their security implications for cloud-scale platform services.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture and managed compute, storage, networking, and database services.
  • Experience designing and securing multi-tenant SaaS and PaaS offerings.
  • Conversant in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or Swift.
  • Experience with security standard processes in third-party cloud environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience securing container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Community contributions such as public CVEs, bug-bounty recognition, open-source tools, or technical blogs are valued.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning is a plus.
