Responsibilities

  • Analyze cloud spending trends and usage patterns across AWS, Azure, and OCI.
  • Identify, prioritize, and monitor cloud cost optimization initiatives involving rightsizing, modernization, automation, and commitment management.
  • Establish cloud cost allocation, chargeback, and showback models and support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Create reporting dashboards, executive insights, cost metrics, anomaly detection, forecasting, and optimization workflows.
  • Develop cloud financial governance standards and optimize Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and other commitment programs.
  • Partner with application, product, engineering, finance, procurement, and business teams on cloud design and FinOps practices.
  • Embed FinOps practices into CI/CD pipelines and cloud delivery processes.
  • Educate stakeholders and present cloud financial metrics, opportunities, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage or advise on AWS organizations, organizational-unit guardrails, service control policies, IAM, and VPC infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or FinOps.
  • Strong understanding of cloud pricing, billing, consumption models, and cloud financial management and governance.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale cloud environments, cloud migration and modernization initiatives, and software asset or cloud licensing optimization.
  • Hands-on AWS experience, including IAM administration and policy writing, AWS Organizations, service control policies, VPC networking, and cloud infrastructure guardrails.
  • Experience with Terraform or OpenTofu, Chef or Ansible, Git, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with one or more of HCL, JSON, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash, or Node.js.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Preferred: FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of OPA/Rego policy as code.
