Base Salary
$174k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and test product or system development code.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select technologies.
- Review other developers’ code for style, accuracy, testability, efficiency, and best practices.
- Contribute to and update documentation or educational content.
- Triage, debug, track, and resolve product or system issues.
- Build and enhance core Infra Spanner components for scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Develop large-scale features and integrate them with products across the Spanner ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Five years of experience programming in C++, or three years of industry experience with an advanced degree.
- Five years of experience designing and developing distributed databases or storage systems.
- Experience with performance analysis, debugging, and optimization of distributed or low-level systems.
- Experience with concurrency, multithreading, and synchronization.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in computer science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience with database internals, memory leaks, data corruption, database performance and tuning, transactional database systems, distributed computing concepts, and consensus algorithms such as Paxos.
