Responsibilities

  • Design, build, maintain, operate, and evolve AI-enabled workflows, services, and applications integrated with Clio’s internal data and systems.
  • Implement solutions using LLM APIs, orchestration frameworks, retrieval systems, and other modern AI platforms and tooling.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Data Insights on data modeling, classification, and metadata management using tools such as Databricks and dbt.
  • Contribute to developer accelerator tooling, including standardized tool calling and MCP server configuration.
  • Ensure systems are observable, reliable, secure, cost-efficient, auditable, and supported by clear monitoring and operational ownership.
  • Uphold responsible AI, privacy, security, compliance, and organizational risk requirements.
  • Translate business problems into technical designs and production solutions while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Improve adoption and usability through documentation, internal tooling, and feedback-driven iteration.
  • Mentor teammates and serve as a technical thought partner within the Enterprise AI team.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI systems development.
  • Hands-on experience delivering production-grade systems integrating data, APIs, and complex workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby and Python, with experience building cloud-based services, pipelines, or applications.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Databricks, dbt, and modern data platforms and tooling.
  • Experience with AI/ML or LLM-powered systems, including prompt design, orchestration, retrieval, or model integration.
  • Understanding of system design, reliability, observability, and operational best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience working under security, privacy, or compliance constraints.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Keen interest in improving engineering craft through the use of AI.
