Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
- Own end-to-end solution design for IBM Business Automation Workflow applications, including process modeling, case management, tasks, coaches, services, integrations, exception handling, and monitoring.
- Lead technical design decisions, architecture reviews, code quality, reusable toolkit strategy, engineering standards, and platform best practices.
- Guide and mentor IBM BAW engineers through design guidance, peer reviews, quality assurance, and technical coaching.
- Partner with product, business, architecture, operations, cybersecurity, risk, and compliance stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Lead production issue triage, root-cause analysis, performance troubleshooting, incident remediation, and permanent fixes.
- Support IBM BPM-to-BAW upgrades, migrations, modernization initiatives, and container-based deployment considerations.
- Drive documentation, design traceability, unit testing, operational readiness, support handover, dependency management, and production stability.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on software development experience, preferably in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Deep experience with IBM BPM v8.5.7 and IBM Business Automation Workflow.
- Strong understanding of IBM BPM/BAW architecture, class hierarchy, process applications, toolkits, snapshots, tracks, instance migration, and deployment lifecycle.
- Proven experience delivering complex IBM BPM/BAW applications with multiple modules, integrations, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with process modeling, case management, human and system tasks, coaches, services, integrations, exception handling, and operational monitoring.
- Experience with application design, technical estimation, unit testing, code reviews, release planning, and engineering best practices.
- Experience with enterprise integrations using REST, SOAP, JMS/MQ, databases, external services, and asynchronous processing.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, Java, Dojo or modern UI frameworks, coach views, custom coach views, HTML, CSS, AJAX, and responsive UI design.
- Experience with WebSphere Application Server administration concepts, environment configuration, deployment, monitoring, and platform troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL, including stored procedures, query tuning, and data modeling.
- Exposure to source control, branching, automated testing, environment promotion, release governance, and rollback planning.
- Understanding of performance, scalability, resilience, observability, auditability, security, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Client lifecycle domain knowledge covering onboarding, maintenance, off-boarding, KYC, case management, workflow orchestration, and operational controls is valued.
- Ability to operate as a senior engineer, technical lead, or solution designer while balancing hands-on development, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and production ownership.
