Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure platform infrastructure using Terraform and established Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Operate and continuously improve Azure Databricks and Azure Kubernetes-based platforms through configuration, automation, monitoring, access management, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Create reusable automation, deployment pipelines, and self-service platform capabilities for engineering, Data, and AI teams.
- Monitor platform health, investigate operational issues, resolve standard support cases, and escalate complex problems when appropriate.
- Implement platform changes according to existing architecture patterns, security requirements, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Platform, Data, AI, MLOps, and Security colleagues on technical discussions, documentation, and platform improvements.
- Participate in architecture and design discussions and implement agreed solutions with support from more experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and understanding of compute, networking, storage, identity, and security concepts.
- Practical experience with containers and Kubernetes, including deployment and operation of containerized workloads.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform; familiarity with Helm is advantageous.
- Experience creating or maintaining deployment pipelines and working with Git-based development and delivery workflows.
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving common operational issues in production or platform environments.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Go, or Shell.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks or similar Data & AI platforms, or strong motivation to develop expertise in this area.
- Basic understanding of Data, Machine Learning, or AI workloads and the infrastructure supporting them.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, communicate clearly, collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus.
