Base Salary
$160k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex software systems for semiconductor inspection and metrology products.
- Define scalable, maintainable, and high-performance architectures aligned with product and technology roadmaps.
- Drive architecture reviews, software design decisions, technical standards, and consensus across development teams.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, algorithms, hardware engineering, physics, and product development teams on integrated solutions.
- Analyze complex requirements, resolve critical system-level issues, and improve software architecture through root cause analysis.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools through proof-of-concept initiatives and promote software quality, testing, automation, and continuous integration practices.
- Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability across distributed and real-time systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple projects and influence long-term platform and product architecture.
- Communicate technical concepts, tradeoffs, and architectural recommendations to engineering and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- An advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of related experience with a doctorate, 6 years with a master's degree, or 8 years with a bachelor's degree.
- Strong experience with Microsoft .NET/C# and/or Java and C++ software development.
- Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale, complex software systems from architecture through deployment.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented design, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Strong understanding of multithreaded, distributed, and high-performance software systems.
- Experience developing software for complex engineering, scientific, semiconductor, industrial automation, or hardware-integrated applications.
- Experience architecting scalable software solutions spanning multiple products and teams.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with software development lifecycle practices, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and software quality practices.
- Ability to influence technical direction, lead design discussions, and drive consensus across engineering organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes semiconductor equipment, metrology, inspection systems, robotics, motion control, precision engineering, Linux-based development, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, real-time systems, image processing, machine vision, scientific computing, data-intensive applications, mentoring, cloud technologies, software automation frameworks, and modern DevOps practices.
