Base Salary
$160k - $234k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex software systems using modern C++.
- Define scalable, maintainable, and high-performance architectures aligned with product and technology roadmaps.
- Drive design decisions, architecture reviews, technical standards, and long-term platform strategy.
- Develop frameworks, libraries, and reusable components that improve product consistency and engineering productivity.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, algorithms, hardware engineering, physicists, and product development teams.
- Translate complex technical requirements into scalable software designs and resolve critical system-level issues.
- Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability across distributed and real-time systems.
- Evaluate new technologies and development approaches through proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Promote software design quality, testing, automation, continuous integration, and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple projects and communicate architectural recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 12+ years of professional software development experience with strong emphasis on C++.
- Experience designing and delivering large-scale, complex software systems from architecture through deployment.
- Deep expertise in object-oriented design, software architecture, design patterns, and modern C++.
- Strong understanding of multithreaded, distributed, and high-performance software systems.
- Experience developing software for complex engineering, scientific, semiconductor, industrial automation, or hardware-integrated applications.
- Demonstrated ability to architect scalable software solutions spanning multiple products and teams.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with software development lifecycle, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and software quality practices.
- Ability to influence technical direction, lead design discussions, drive consensus, and communicate complex concepts effectively.
- Preferred qualifications include semiconductor equipment, metrology, inspection systems, robotics, motion control, Linux, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, real-time systems, image processing, machine vision, scientific computing, data-intensive applications, mentoring, cloud technologies, software automation frameworks, and DevOps practices.
