Senior Software Engineer (Run)
MorningstarResponsibilities
- Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues and design solutions to address them.
- Design, develop, and implement scalable features for new and existing products.
- Test applications and ensure logic, syntax, and outputs are accurate.
- Document code, architectural changes, technical documentation, and database-level modifications.
- Own product modules and key architectural services from requirement scoping through production launch.
- Improve system performance and scalability through innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with peers, Principal Software Engineers, product owners, business analysts, and cross-functional teams.
- Mentor junior team members and help them complete their tasks.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and refine user stories and tasks in Jira.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience developing cloud-native applications using Azure.
- Expertise creating APIs with .NET Framework or .NET Core and REST principles.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with relational SQL databases.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Vue, React, or Angular is preferred.
- Experience with non-relational databases such as Raven or Cosmos is preferred.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development and SOLID principles.
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes and their integration into development workflows.
- Ability to define engineering best practices and mentor team members.
- Practical knowledge of modern web application architecture, JavaScript-driven application flows, and API-driven backends.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
