Responsibilities
- Build and evolve customer-facing Responsible AI services across text, image, audio, video, and multimodal content.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performance software architectures and complex features end to end.
- Integrate dependencies across systems and teams while addressing performance, resiliency, disaster recovery, cost, compliance, and security requirements.
- Improve engineering excellence through automation, developer tools, code reviews, secure coding, security gates, scanners, monitoring, and auditable compliance evidence.
- Deliver through roadmaps, experimentation, safe deployments, flighting, success and guardrail metrics, dependency hygiene, and rollback strategies.
- Improve reliability and supportability through telemetry, instrumentation, diagnostics, observability, incident response, postmortems, playbooks, tests, and technical support guides.
- Lead as a DRI or on-call engineer and reduce incident volume through systemic fixes.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, incorporate customer insights, and establish measurable feedback loops.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical direction through architecture leadership, design reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience with hands-on development in one or more programming languages such as C# or Python.
- Strong expertise in software design, system architecture, data structures, algorithms, and scalable, reliable, and secure service development.
- Proven experience owning and delivering complex features or services from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Understanding of cloud-based and distributed systems, reliability, performance optimization, telemetry, diagnostics, and live-site support.
- Ability to influence technical direction and mentor others through design leadership, code reviews, and cross-team collaboration.
- Experience applying secure coding practices and compliance requirements.
- Preferred: 8+ years of technical engineering experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a master’s degree.
- Preferred: advanced technical judgment and architectural capability, including designing, optimizing, debugging, refactoring, and guiding engineering decisions.
- Preferred: experience with AI platforms, large language models, and core machine-learning concepts.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
