Base Salary

$162k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and own end-to-end features across data pipelines, APIs, and microservices.
  • Build integration services that exchange data with internal platforms and external systems.
  • Develop microservices supporting equity portfolio construction and direct indexing workflows.
  • Design relational database schemas, write efficient SQL, and maintain data quality, completeness, and timeliness.
  • Build, release, deploy, and operate services in a cloud-native, Kubernetes-based environment.
  • Troubleshoot live production systems and provide real-time support during critical incidents.
  • Modernize platform components and adopt contemporary technologies and enterprise-grade third-party services.
  • Write clear, maintainable, well-tested code and collaborate with engineering, product, analytics, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 6 years of post-university professional experience in data engineering, integration engineering, backend engineering, or full-stack engineering.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and programming paradigms.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern object-oriented languages, specifically Java or Python.
  • Solid experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs, including RESTful services; GraphQL or gRPC familiarity is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production systems and provide real-time support for critical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work across engineering and business teams.
  • Experience in cloud environments, messaging and event-driven technologies such as AWS SQS, and containerization and orchestration technologies is preferred.
  • Understanding of secure distributed systems concepts, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, secrets management, caching, and observability, is preferred.
  • Exposure to React, Angular, or statistical and financial analysis is a plus.
