Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product, design, data, and content teams to build and maintain full-stack features.
- Build accessible frontend experiences with Next.js, React, and TypeScript, including streaming chat and multimodal voice, text-to-speech, and speech-to-text interfaces.
- Architect and ship backend services and APIs using Python, Django, SQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Pinecone, and Contentful.
- Monitor and improve AI performance metrics such as latency and time-to-first-token.
- Own software delivery from architecture and planning through development, deployment, monitoring, and service health.
- Use feature flags, A/B tests, staged or progressive rollouts, and experimentation to deliver incremental improvements.
- Use user feedback, support tickets, session replays, and product analytics to identify and solve user problems.
- Use Datadog, Sentry, and LangSmith for monitoring, alerting, analytics, and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with external development partners, troubleshoot integrations, review code, and participate in code reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to development practices, tools, and technical direction.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience delivering production software across both frontend and backend development.
- Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, including stateful streaming interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience with Python and Django or equivalent backend frameworks.
- Proficiency designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and vector databases such as Pinecone.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
- Experience monitoring and instrumenting production services with Datadog or comparable observability tooling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects as a technical lead.
- Ability to deliver complex projects incrementally using feature flags, staged rollouts, and experimentation platforms such as Statsig.
- Strong user focus, communication skills, collaboration, and ability to explain technical matters to nontechnical stakeholders and junior engineers.
- Familiarity with distributed tracing and log analytics.
- Preferred experience with LLM orchestration, agent design, LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, LangMem, Model Context Protocol, prompt engineering, evaluation, guardrails, RAG, Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector, and real-time multimodal AI.
- Preferred experience with Web Audio, WebRTC, real-time OpenAI SDKs, trust and safety systems, privacy-by-design, consent management, COPPA, SOC 2, ISO 42001, Contentful, asynchronous programming, task queues, Docker, Kubernetes, React Native, mobile app development, and nonprofit or social-impact work.
