Base Salary

$128k - $173k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Translate UX research and high-fidelity prototypes into responsive, accessible, performant React applications and reusable UI components.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UI architects, developers, and HCD specialists to create actionable design specifications.
  • Define and enforce UI/UX and front-end coding standards for consistency and reuse.
  • Evaluate designs and production releases for Section 508, WCAG, usability, accessibility, performance, and security compliance.
  • Support prototyping, usability validation, and iterative feedback within Agile sprint cycles.
  • Provide guidance on interaction design, UI consistency, and design-system reuse.
  • Produce HCD implementation plans, accessibility and compliance reports, and standardized design-system components.
  • Partner with QA and compliance teams to verify usability and accessibility in production releases.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of UI/UX design development experience, including 5+ years in a Human-Centered Design role supporting enterprise or government applications.
  • 10+ years of general information-systems experience and 8+ years of specialized experience are listed in the qualifications.
  • Strong proficiency in React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, responsive design, and Sass or other CSS preprocessors.
  • Experience developing reusable React functional components, managing component state and props, and integrating UI components into production applications.
  • Proficiency with design, prototyping, usability-testing, collaboration, accessibility, and analytics tools including Figma, Sketch, Storybook, Axure, Miro, InVision, Axe, Wave, Color Oracle, SiteImprove, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Teams, Hotjar, Google Analytics, and Optimal Workshop.
  • Understanding of Agile/SAFe delivery, HCD principles, usability testing, Section 508, WCAG compliance, federal digital modernization, and secure user-interface principles.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HCI, design, or a related field, with specified equivalent-experience substitutions permitted.
  • Preferred or desirable qualifications include federal court or case-management experience, DesignOps and UX governance familiarity, AI-assisted UX knowledge, and certifications such as CUA, Certified HCD Professional, SAFe Agile Practitioner, Section 508 Trusted Tester, or UX/HCD certification.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder relationship skills.
