Base Salary
$171k - $257k/yr
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead for critical national security research programs, translating high-level goals into tactical implementation.
- Break down complex deliverables into actionable tasks and oversee full-stack development from inception through deployment.
- Lead technical implementation teams and support hands-on lab operations in Arlington, with occasional travel to Herndon.
- Ensure program deliverables are completed through sound technical judgment and leadership of functional engineering staff.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 7+ years of experience in a similar software engineering role; extensive related experience may substitute for the degree.
- Experience planning and executing technical tasks, prioritizing work, managing schedules, and directing team members.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and JavaScript and extensive experience in Linux-based environments.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle, Git-based version control, Kubernetes containerization and scaling, and Jenkins and GitLab automation tools.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Ability to work 100% in person in a lab environment and commute to Arlington and Herndon, Virginia.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS or OpenStack, Vue.js, Ansible, Terraform, OpenTofu, DoD or national security R&D projects, and transitioning technology to operational users.
