Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
- Own end-to-end validation for SAN and block storage features, including test design, execution, and defect lifecycle management.
- Develop functional, integration, stress, performance, and scale tests for distributed storage systems.
- Analyze failures, debug issues across software layers, and drive root-cause resolution.
- Collaborate with development teams to define validation strategies and improve feature testability.
- Contribute to product design discussions and improve reliability, observability, and diagnosability.
- Lead or significantly contribute to test planning, quality reviews, and release readiness.
- Work with development, QA, and field support teams to validate customer use cases and production readiness.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence engineering best practices and automation strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 8-12 years of relevant industry experience and a track record of owning quality outcomes for complex subsystems.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building automation frameworks.
- Experience with system-level testing and debugging of distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems, multithreading, and system internals.
- Experience with storage technologies, preferably SAN protocols including FC, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF.
- Understanding of file systems, data paths, replication, or high-availability systems.
- Experience automating scale, performance, and stress testing.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and modern development workflows.
- Ability to work independently on moderately to highly complex problems and drive solutions.
- Preferred experience with ONTAP, SnapMirror, SVM, HA/MetroCluster, large-scale system validation, customer scenario testing, cloud-integrated storage, hybrid cloud architectures, or team-level SDET automation strategy.
