Responsibilities
- Define and execute QA strategy for Network SDK components including HAL, SAI, platform APIs, and data-plane interfaces.
- Design and maintain test frameworks and automation suites for SDK APIs, hardware integration, and system behavior.
- Lead SDK release qualification through functional, regression, performance, and scalability testing.
- Triage and root-cause defects with SDK developers, ASIC teams, and network operating system integration teams.
- Define quality metrics and ensure releases meet reliability, performance, and compliance goals.
- Expand automation coverage across hardware SKUs and software branches.
- Integrate automated SDK tests into continuous validation pipelines and collaborate on hardware abstraction, packet I/O, and platform API validation.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of software QA or validation experience with networking SDKs, network operating system platforms, or embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of L2/L3 forwarding, ACLs, QoS, and multicast networking architectures.
- Experience with C/C++ API testing, Python automation, and Linux-based environments.
- Experience with hardware abstraction layers, switch SDKs, SAI, DPDK, or P4-based platforms.
- Deep debugging skills using packet captures, logs, SDK traces, and hardware counters.
- Ability to architect test frameworks, design test plans, and drive complex system validation efforts.
- Preferred: experience with multi-ASIC or chassis-based switching systems and NOS integration with SONiC, EOS, or NX-OS.
- Preferred: familiarity with IXIA, Spirent, or TRex traffic-generation tools and scale testing.
- Preferred: experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, containerized test environments, or continuous validation frameworks.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source SDKs or network software projects such as SAI or SONiC.
