Responsibilities

  • Understand IP architecture and validation requirements with IP design and verification teams.
  • Develop, port, and enhance validation software and firmware for IP bring-up.
  • Debug complex firmware and software scenarios and resolve firmware issues.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, software, and other teams on test plans and debugging.
  • Validate IP functionality, identify weaknesses and bugs, and determine root causes.
  • Use silicon debug hooks to measure power, performance, coverage, and other KPI metrics.
  • Work with minimal supervision and mentor or guide junior coworkers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of ASIC or related experience, or a master's degree plus 3+ years, or a PhD plus 2+ years.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering is listed as a minimum qualification.
  • 2–10 years of hardware engineering or related work experience.
  • Excellent understanding of embedded systems, SoC architecture, processor architecture, and memory interfacing.
  • Excellent C expertise with hands-on firmware development and debugging experience.
  • Experience in IP validation and exposure to DDR or other high-speed protocols.
  • Exposure to emulation and pre-silicon environments.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or other instruments.
  • Experience using JTAG-based debuggers, compilers, and linkers.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, SoC interconnects, and power management.
  • Experience with software development for silicon enablement and silicon validation.
  • Exposure to a scripting language, preferably Python.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
